I know there are a lot of you that think I’m off the deep end with the fear of a machine revolution (whether it takes the form of sentient computers killing everyone or a new race of human/machine hybrids Borg-ifying the planet), but please watch this report from 60 Minutes and try to stay relaxed. Holy crap.
Whoa. Now think about what the Terry Schiavo nutballs would have to say about that. That’s what scares me about it. A nation of otherwise vegged out individuals whose families have one more reason to NEVER LET GO!
On the other hand, with patients that really are “locked in” it does have some interesting prospects.
